This film is getting panned by viewers not for the story , the writing or the acting but because it's primarily anti - gun. The same way the religious reich hated " the di Vinci code " . Can't people leave their personal opinions at the door ? This was a strong film on all counts . A 5.6 !! Nonsense .

shareWatch it if you haven't. It's not so much about gun control, as it is about playing a deadly game to win. It's about strategy and foresight, being smart. About how heartless and broken you have to be to actually play that kind of game.
I was a little worried about the low rating, but for me it's 10/10!
Shallow and brainwashed minds will make it about guns though, that's expected. The story needed the "gun control" subject to raise the stakes, to make it a very heated fight over something controversial. It's actually such a good storytelling that it escaped the movie and went into real life, getting all the pro and against gun control guys speaking up :D

shareMe too! I had never even heard of this movie. It has a terrific cast and I like the director, John Madden, very much. It was well written too. I'm sorry it didn't do well at the theaters because I definitely would have gone to see it there. It's certainly better than most of the junk out there. Jessica Chastain and Mark Strong are wonderful in this. I hope it finds an audience on DVD and streaming. It's so nice to see a woman protagonist. Good courtroom drama too! 9/10

I agree, I found it a very intriguing film, I think it's the best film I've seen in a while but I can see that it would have lost some people. I gave it a 9/10.
