Rebecca Silver
Rebecca Silver is Mick Rory’s nom de “plum [sic],” as he puts it, a best-selling si-fi/romance novelist. In ep. 4.13, Mick is coaching Amaya how to impersonate his literary alter ego for a public appearance that will, not incidentally, pay “Rebecca” a $20,000 fee. At one point we get a glimpse of a giant mock-up of Rebecca’s latest best-seller, and the tagline over the title is “In space, no one can hear you moan,” a parody of the tagline for Alien! In media like MAD Magazine and Airplane!, I’ve always found the funniest stuff to be the throwaway stuff in the background, just like this. That’s why I value The Legends far above all other CW series.
