Does White Canary sound like a fan fiction character to anyone else?

I don't know but if you really take a look at her character, it almost feels like she could have been made up by some random fanboy for his fanfiction.

"So, her name is White Canary. She's, like, Black Canary's sister. She was trained by the League of Assasins from Batman and she was also on the boat with Green Arrow when he got to that island and also she's in love with Captain Cold. Also she makes out with girls too, she likes girls."

Now doesn't that kind of sound like a fan-made character.

reply

Hmmm. Yes, yes it does

She is ok but is underpowered compared to the rest. Also the overt lesbian references in almost every episode are annoying.

It is fan fiction that was created on the Arrow IMDB forum during season 1 of the show. No one took the idea of Sara returning from the dead seriously but apparently Guggenheim frequented that forum and thought that it was great storytelling.

reply

Too bad she's an actual comic character and not made up for the show.

Which just shows how big of an idiot he really is. They need to get rid of this guy the way the DCEU needs to get rid of Zach Snyder.

Sarah is there to appease social justice warriors and that's all. It's the reason why she went from straight to gay for no discernable reason.

reply

she is bi

reply

She didn't seem bi in the season opener. Her libido was in overdrive and she didn't seem to have any interest in men, only in women. She was hypersexualized in the episode, to the point where she was jeopardizing missions (in France) and her own life (in Salem).

Yes this! He ruins everything he touches because he likes to take too many liberties to where the characters are almost unrecognizable and he's obsessed with love stories. f that's the case, he should go for Lifetime or Hallmark movies and soap operas.

I love Sara and have no problem with her being gay or bi. I don't like how they're portraying her as a "gay" character by having her hook up with any chick she meets. Most lesbians aren't like that. It feels like with Legends, they've made her an exclusively gay character, her thing with Snart was more of a best friends/sibling relationship. On Arrow, she was more bi in having relationships with both Ollie and Nyssa but she wasn't going out hunting for women. However, now that Kendra is gone it feels like they're going to try and put her with Ray, which I hope won't happen but I have a feeling. As far as sexuality goes, I want them to pick one and stick with it.

I have EXORCISED the demon

reply

No she's not.

Darth Maul: "He Lives"

reply

yes, she is

Sara Lance is an original creation for the shows.
White Canary is a villain who's name was slapped onto Sara.

Oh sorry, I thought you meant she isn't bi... Ok, well, yes, you are right, White Canary is an underdeveloped villian in the comics (from the little info you can get of her in DC wikia, she is nothing unique), and here she is related to tbe black canaries, who have no yelling powers but do have sonic bombs like the black canaries from the comics did when they temporarily lost their yelling.

reply

Her character it's like the Daryl Dixon of LoT, they are all fan pandering so to answer to your question yes totally, she feels like a character written by Tumblr girls.

So go on. Kiss me. Kill me. Do something.

reply

I think she was made up by some random fan boy called Greg

reply

She is fan fiction come to life. The actress was free so they created this character to appease SJWs.

The overt lesbian promiscuous stereotype is becoming annoying. The other characters aren't as sex obsessed as she is. The odd joke is ok but it is almost every episode. They wouldn't do the same with a gay male character.

reply

To be fair, she is obsessed with sex and with assassination, she is kinda like Belkar but female... and less funny, way smarter.

What is wrong is that she is... Too successful at seducing women.
