Still not sure about this

So far its been pretty naff, its all a bit derivative of everything that's gone before (like most things are today) but every now and again I see sparks of potential in with the dross that is played out for most of the episodes. I always try to stick with something for a while to at least give things a chance but up to now I just can't see this lasting unless something happens that really generates some more interest. It reminds me of that insipid Robin Hood series that the BBC did a few years ago, a bland leading character surrounded by other dull characters that nobody really cares about. The dozen or so marauding pillagers had me laughing though, they looked really threatening,,,,,,,not!
Unfair to compare with GoT imo as GoT is primarily aimed at a more adult audience than this, opening titles not withstanding. Comparisons with Xena/Hercules are more apt I would say except that so far this is just not as good as either.
Fingers crossed it will improve and find something to save it before the inevitable questions are asked by the powers that be.

There are already rumours circulating about it's cancellation which is never a good sign. This started out with promise, references to different types of monsters and the possibility that Grendal wasn't just a dumb monster. Beowulf being Hrothgars son also seemed intriguing. But nothing more has been said of that.

But as the show has gone on it seems to be trying too hard to copy Game of Thrones with everyone having an agenda and ulterior motive. They should have kept the focus on the mudborn.

Looks like the rumours are true, I read this morning that it has indeed been cancelled. Oh well another missed opportunity.
