More Hercules/Xena than Game of Thrones.
I like the "lite" tone of the show, it reminds of Kevin Sorbo/Hercules and Xena Warrior Princess 90's t.v. series.
shareI just came here to post that it seems to have "borrowed" the Hercules formula. The sidekick roles being quite similar, for sure.
One thing that Herc and Xena had was lots of traveling built into the story line. In Beowulf they reuse the same settlement and characters quite a bit. It's going to become stale far too soon.
It's already stale. And Herc/Xena were campy shows. Bad as this is, it's not camp. Just poorly executed and produced.
