Yeah, almost thought winter finally arrived. :P
shareEven the music is close to the same. *SMH*
shareMakes me wonder what kind of weddings they'll have. Blue ones? Yellow ones?
Though, looking at the set where the rulers lives, I'm just waiting for a man, an elf, a dwarf and an old guy with a white staff, a massive white beard and a pointy hat to appear and ask to talk to the ruler only to be welcomed by a guy who has a name that is comprised of a reptile and an organ used for speaking.
Right? Who in their right mind would approve of such a blatant ripoff? Especially after basically cloning Edoras from LOTR as main location?
Whoever the producers are, they are completely incompetent. Who gives those people the money?
"All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain"
'Who gives those people the money?'
Advertisers.
It is not LOTR that they are ripping off. It is Games of Thrones but not realising that is a show with a lot of hype and awards but few viewers in the UK.
It's that man again!!
Except everyone I know in the UK watches GoT bar a few people.
And before you make the argument I hardly associate with a typical audience of fantasy material, so no I think you'll find it's HUGE in the UK.
cloning Edoras from LOTR as main location?
Well in fairness Edoras, or to be precise the hall Meduseld, was cloned from Hrothgar's Heorot.
A sort of GoT for kiddies , given its time slot - no nudes, no cussing, no violence and precious little of interest though Joanne Whalley is very strong and Gisli whatever he's called is very cute. Is William Hurt now a British resident, after this and Humans?
shareI think Hurt got cast because either the series has US production money or to help it sell to the US market.
I think Hurt has always been a bit of an Anglophile. Check out the film Second Best from the 1990s where he has a curious Welsh accent.

It's that man again!!
And Rochester in 'Jane Eyre', I'd forgotten. (Mind you it's rather a forgettable version.)
