Why so many Critics want to see GHOSTBUSTERS AFTERLIFE fail!

Ghostbusters Afterlife is upon us, and by all indications, it is going to be a crowd pleaser. While audience word of mouth has been stellar, reviews from professional critics have been a bit more mixed, with some seemingly review bombing the movie for dismissing Paul Feig’s 2016 remake, and for catering to the built in fans. It would appear that to some, the Ghostbusters hits a nerve.

@AndreEinherjar will begin this editorial by recapping how Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters remake became a cultural touchstone in 2016, and why its failure caused a residual bias against any other Ghostbusters iteration; and finally, what to do about it.

Critics want to fail because they can't stand GB Afterlife is likely going to be crowd pleaser and honors the legacy of the first two movies. Only fake fans wanted Ghostbusters 2016 to succeed.

Problem those critics are trying to jam a square peg into a round hole, a feminist genre movie isn't going to appeal to a vast majority of viewers for such a large scale investment to be profitable.

2016 GB should NEVER have been given the greenlight, it should ALWAYS have been a sequel to GB2. Its like they had no clue SW TFA would make all reboots/remakes obsolete. After that audiences want sequels with the OG cast turning up .

Be like doing a woke remake of BTTF over a Part IV with CLloyd and MJF in supporting roles

reply

Because it's not an all female disaster, that's why.

It's a good sign that critics dislike it but I'm still skeptical that it will be good.

Remember how many times the morons said if you don't like it go watch the original. Well if they don't like the original or this film they can go watch the 2016 sh*t. They won't though, because they didn't find it entertaining and are just saying they did.

reply

Trashing films that aren't super feminist.

They appear to be ignoring the fact 2016 was a box office bomb, so why would they do a sequel to a film that flopped and lost over 70 million dollars.

What a load of paranoid garbage.
