Ivo Shandor
Wonder if we'll get to see the final boss in this movie. I hear there is going to be lots and lots of nostalgia and references to the first 2 movies and the trailers hid the returning characters well.

shareConsidering the X-Box 360/Playstation 3 game made him the final boss I am not so sure it will be him. But I could be wrong.
shareAre the games considered canon though?
shareI mean I can't know til I see the movie in a few weeks. But you know just like how Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis didn't want the 2nd Ghostbusters movie connected story wise to the cartoon, the people behind this film may not want to do stuff from the video game.
shareThe 2009 game is supposed to be canon but being that videogames tend to have a sub-status, it could very easily become retconned by any new movie or official media.
shareHonestly, as tired as I am of them trying to rekindle the franchise, that'd be an interesting prequel movie.
shareI was disappointed with how Ivo Shandor was handled in the movie. Even if you haven't played the game, his name was attached to the building in the first movie, and to the mines in this one. We finally see him in person movie-wise, and he's tossed aside right when you think he was gonna actually do something. They even got JK Simmons, when anyone could've played that role since it was completely wasted.
He's practically the reason there are ghosts wreaking havoc in the first place, and yet.... *sigh* At least we have the 2009 game. As much as I enjoyed Afterlife, both movie sequels (and the awful 2016 reboot) mostly retread the first movie. The game somewhat retreaded and had fan service too, but it then expanded on the lore and did its own thing. Hopefully, if Afterlife is good enough and they green-light a sequel, Ghostbusters 4 will try to do it's own thing too.
Yeah, just came back from the theaters, he was just lying in a glass coffin then gets shredded in half after he got revived along with Gozer. So stupid. Must be a feminist shtick or I dunno, it was a god after all. Guess his greed got the better of him. I was disappoint with Gozer though, it didn't do much... Much like the previous movie.
