I am extremely upset that Woody used green screen technology in making Cafe Society.
I mean this is Woody Allen after all. Annie Hall Woody Allen, Manhattan Woody Allen.

I just finished watching it. What scenes used green screen? I didn't notice.
"I'm playing a role, sir. What are you doing?"
Definitely the Jesse Eisenberg close ups at the end or the movie, the nightclub scene behind him were green screened (this confirmed by Jesse himself in an interview)
Also, in my opinion, some of the scenes with the skyline in the back.

That's the spirit! When crying in five threads about a single issue is not enough, make a separate thread for it :) Green screen or not, the film is gorgeous. I never judge any filmmaker by the techniques they use, but by the art they create. Sure, this piece falls flat on many levels, but cinematography isn't one of them.

I thought "oh cool.. A Woody Allen inspired tour of Old Beverly Hills (that wasn't torn down)" but oh there's a greem screen......
shareThe beginning of the scene where Bobby and Vonnie look at the houses of the stars. It's pretty obvious, too. In fact, I'd say it's glaring.

In some scenes, the foreground characters looked yellow, while the backgrounds were normally lit. Once I noticed, it got really distracting.
