A shame because I love Bruce Willis in smaller, comedic roles. I'd rather watch him than Carell, whom I don't dislike, but he's not a huge draw for me. But life goes on, maybe Willis will appear in a future Allen film.

After having seen it now, I think I would have preferred Willis. Carell wasn't bad, just not overly memorable.

reply

Apparently Bruce was being an arse, but I think he would have made a better Hollywood mogul than Carell.

reply

Maybe but I think Willis paired up and weeping for Stewart would have looked ridiculous...

Carell seemed creditable in this role. I don't see Stewart's character having a problem choosing between the geeky Eisenberg over Bruce Willis even at the of age 61. Steve Carell on the other hand came off a little bit awkward and smarmy.

Yeah. Bruce Willis would have been WAY too old but also still more sexy. Maybe the whole movie is miscast? I mean what is the chemistry between Eisenberg and basically anyone?

Agree. Add Carrell to the list of folks miscast for this movie (on top of Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart).

Willis is just too much of a jerk these days. He had a chance to work with Allen and blew it and Carell was always going to be a better replacement at the last minute.

It's that man again!!
