Watching Eisenberg channel Woody Allen for 90 minutes...

I bailed after 12 minutes.

I like Woody Allen, but he definitely had Jesse Eisenberg imitate classic Woody Allen in playing Bobby, and it's quite distracting and annoying. Some might say facocta :-)

If Jesse was channeling Woody he did not make it too obvious.

It's that man again!!

Are you kidding? Obvious was why I noticed it. In the first 10 minutes.

You're joking right? It was the most blatant imitation I'd ever seen. It's like Woody can only write from his own perspective, and now that he's gotten too old to put himself in the role, he just casts someone else to play him instead.

I'm so ugly...that's ok 'cause so are you.

I too pickedup on it from the get go in the stupid Hooker scene. It would have been a much better movie, if Eisenberg could have just played himself and not have to imitate Woody Allen. I've never been a fan of Woody Allen's Character or find it remotely believable some hot chic would fall for his schtick. His best movies (my favorite) are just movies like Matchpoint, VCB, Midnight in Paris and Blue Jasmine. I haven't seen all his movies and it's been some time since I've seen his "classics", but I prefer when he leaves his persona out. The movie had some good structure, but some of those elements (and bad CGI) kinda took me out of parts.

I also get tired of him constantly having to interject that Jew stuff into the movies, as if it's not obvious enough, he's gotta hammer it into our heads. It adds nothing to the movie....in fact, it takes away for me.

I lasted the entire ride, but easy it was not as Eisenberg's version of WA was almost as bad as Will Ferrell's in Melinda or Jason Biggs's in Anything Else. Supremely irritating to see him do the "sophisticated" romantic blabbermouth schtick, always eager to talk about his feelings and sh-t, at great length.

Agree. So out of place. Detracted from an otherwise decent movie. VO was tepid too.
