Why did some of the nuns...
... ultimately leave their (former) vocations? I'm referring to the exodus of nuns that was mentioned at the end of the movie.
shareBecause the second Vatican Council declared that nuns were no more special to God than an ordinary, penitent Catholic parishioner. Essentially that meant that all their sacrifices, suffering, and years of living behind walls meant nothing.
