Good fun movie - saw the Preview ! No Spoilers here! Ask me anything!

Saw a preview and enjoyed the 'R' rated comedy at xmas time. The story is about a Dad trying to check a dude his daughter loves is good enough for her and so on.

Although the premise sounded similar to films of the past, the script has energy.the actors are spirited and the gags are good. I'll be surprised if it does not have a decent run at xmas.

The negatives include a slightly imperfect editing affecting the pace of the movie, possibly 10-20 mins too long and not all gags work.

Having said that, when they work, its a hoot and the whole cinema was rocking with laughter which always helps when you watch a comedy.A lot of the gags are certainly 'R' rated but they do pull it off without making it sound bad most times.

Bryan Cranstan and James Franco do a good spy vs spy tag team and look convincing in their roles. They get the best gags and lines but thankfully the entire cast has gags written for them which makes the movie better. Zoey Deutch,Keegan Michael Key,Megan Mullaly and even the boy who plays the son are all great in their parts.

Should fall into the same bracket as Spy,World's End,etc in giving all round satisfaction if you are not too demanding at xmas time.

Any nudity ? I mean can you take the family at xmas?!

Depends.Should be fine for older teens mainly for the topics and language in the movie! Nudity is limited to James Franco's rear and pubic hair. But the things discussed are a bit too much for younger teens imo. Hope it helps.

Glad the audience you saw it with enjoyed. My theater was fighting sleep for most of the film. The forced attempts at comedy were painful, and I felt sad for the cast (who surely realized that the laughs were not resonating during filming). I liked the Kaley Cuoco voice thing though. And Megan Mullaly's drunk advances were quite funny and made me miss her on W&G.
