Meet the Parents?
.
Here we go all over again!
Your right it's the same movie! Only it's normal dad meets eccentric boyfriend instead of normal boyfriend meets eccentric dad. I can see the sequels now, Why Her? (Meeting eccentric in laws) Why Them? (Meeting eccentric grandkids)
shareIt's officially NOT a remake if you call it something different.
More not-remakes we can look forward to:
"Cyborg Assassin"
A killer android from the post-apocalyptic future is sent back in time to kill a young woman destined to give birth to mankind's future savior.
"Galactic Resistance"
A band of heroes must deliver stolen plans for a planet-destroying space battle station to an army of galactic rebels.
"Quest For The Ark Of The Covenant"
A 1930s archaeologist must find the lost Ark before the Nazis do.
"Killer Shark"
A man-eating great white preys on swimmers at a beach community, but the authorities don't want to tell anyone because the town's economy depends on summer tourists.
"Stuck In The Past"
A teenager travels back in time to when his parents were in high school and unwittingly prevents them from meeting.
Love it!

shareMy thoughts exacty by the preview - thought it was a remake until half-way through the trailer.

I saw it last night. It is very similar to Meet the Parents which shouldn't come as a surprise since the guy who directed and co-wrote this also co-wrote Meet the Parents. But it has enough laughs and is different in tone and content since it's rated R(Meet the Parents was PG-13) that the similarities didn't really bother me.
shareI liked "Meet the Parents" much better. The PG-13 rating kept us from hearing the eff word every 2 seconds and just all that raunch in general. "Why Me?" wasn't the worst movie ever, but it was darned close.
shareIt follows the same plot as most american comedies. You get a few laughs, thats it.
