The rock throwing scene in trailer

I saw the trailer several times and I finally saw the movie tonight. After watching, I had no recollection of the scene in the trailer when Bryan Cranston threw a rock at a flying camera and it hit a woman in the face. Was that scene in the movie and I just temporarily zoned out?

reply

Nope, it must have been cut. There were a few scenes from the trailers missing, probably because the scenes were rubbish but had moments that looked good for the trailer.

reply

Yeah the scene with Casey Wilson getting hit with the rock was the biggest laugh in the trailer, surprised it wasn't in the actual movie. They do that a lot I think, include cut scenes in the trailers for movies, not sure why but as long as I can remember it's happened, especially with comedy trailers.

reply

I think James Franco showing his "Game Over" fists to Bryan Cranston was also cut.

reply

And also the whole bowling scene where Bryan Cranston falls to his knees doing his signature move and shouting Boom Shalacka Shalacka

reply

This scene was indeed cut from the final film. I imagine that, due to the vast amount of over-the-top scenes in the movie, the filmmaking team decided that a few lesser scenes could be removed without interrupting the flow of Why Him?

reply

apparently due to adlibbing they created a 240 minute movie, wouldnt mind a full dvd cut

reply

The trailer made this seem like there would be a bigger rivalry between James Franco and Bryan Cranston over the affection of whatsername, the final cut seemed to downplay that a little, and the scene of the drone spying on the father and daughter's private conversation probably didn't portray Laird in a sympathetic light, so it was snipped out.

reply

I believe you are correct. The trailer for Why Him? made it appear as though Ned and Laird were two male figures in Stephanie's life who could not bear the thought of losing, going to extreme lengths in hope of one of the two deciding to stand down and accept defeat. I guess the decision to make Laird more kind-hearted was deemed more appropriate.
