"He literally has no filter" from the trailer


Is the misuse of "literally" just mainstream now? Of course he doesn't literally have a filter; he's a human being, not a coffee-making appliance. My friend noticed it, too.

The word adds nothing to the message, and conveys to the listener that you don't know how to effectively communicate.
