Serious plot hole or at least an imposibility (Spoilers)

I may be wrong but when the natural gas pipeline was opened, one little (and I mean little) spark would have made everything go up in flames. They were fighting quite violently and I also would think that "sled" Grace and Sophie rode INSIDE the pipeline would be very likely to cause a spark..

Am I wrong?

There is 'intrinsically safe' equipment and machinery used in certain hazardous environments, specifically designed/sealed/insulated to not cause any ignition sources so we'll have to assume the fantasy sled was made like that.

The probability that during the whole time the pipe was open and the "sled ride", no spark occurred is VERY low.

The probability that the events in the movie happened is also VERY low. The whole penetrating the pipeline and riding the sled thing is ridiculous, I think we can look past whether sparks were produced. They weren't produced because it didn't suit the silly plot.
