Both "Strike Back" boys score TV Series on NBC this Fall!

Well, I think that it's really cool that both Philip Winchester (Michael Stonebridge on Strike Back) and Sullivan Stapleton (Damian Scott on Strike Back) both have TV Series this Fall and both are on NBC! Philip is the lead on The Player and Sullivan is the lead on Blindspot. But, alas, both Series may only last 1 Season. We'll see.

reply

Yeah... and here I am already waiting for them to see each other in a temporary team-up on each show that they scored!

reply

Yeah. I'm glad they both got new projects quickly. But it's NBC. If they get full seasons, they'll be lucky.

I wish them the best and hope they do well.
I watched Blindside first episode and it was pretty good. I liked it and I thought Damien Scott was a really good FBI agent after he left Section 20.

Cant wait to watch The Player and see how Stonebridge is doing in Vegas.

reply

It would have been cool as hell if they had kept their Stonebridge and Scott characters names and these shows portrayed their lives following Section 20. Eventually crossover in the making..

reply

That would have been cool.
In my mind they are the same guys.

reply

I was so happy and surprised to see both of them in separate TV shows so soon! Nothing seems to last on the basic tv stations anymore but I'll take what I can get. :)

reply

And neither show is as good as Strike Back!

reply

True about Blindspot..... This show seems much more in the vein of fast paced action (about 20 minutes in) as Strike Back. Plus Phillip Winchester gets to show off his weapons training he used in Strike Back here in The Player.

The worst part about seeing Stonebridge and Scott on these shows? Yes i know thats not their names but in my mind they're still Scott and Stonebridge. Think its that way for a lot of people.

Best part is seeing how superior they are as action stars compared to others that are starring in Action shows, talking to you CBS and NCIS. The skills they learned and honed on strikeback are on full display in their respective shows. Hopefully NBC does right by them and lets them find an audience.

The amount of violence they let by in The Player was phenom. They had a guy impaled on a roulette wheel and the hostage victims mom stabbed a dude's hand. Come on thats some serious lets push the 10:00 slot kind of stuff.

I think the Voice is a terrible lead in for Blindspot. Id put it on after Undateable and some other sit com. Move them to tuesday and let the dudes have NBC tuesday like the women have Thursday on ABC

Well the problem with Blindspot is that it gives the impression that it is a clone of Blacklist. I enjoyed the premier, but I have doubts to the longevity of the series.

I wonder how much more they can get away with in future episodes of The Player. I wouldn't say it was over the top by any means though. I think this was walking the line.

Sullivan made out much better than Phillip did. I had high hopes for both series but the "Player" is already played out. On his own Phillip seems even drier than he did in Strike Back, it worked for him playing opposite of Sullivan but on his own not so much. Snipes didn't bring anything to the show and appeared to be stiff. Hopefully they tweak things a it in the episodes coming up.
