sharePerson of interest may have borrowed the basic idea of predicting crime before it happens from Minority report but that's where the similarity's end.They share no plots or character's.
the Player features a shadowy rich guy who hires a well trained ex military officer to stop crime before it happens by using a network of surveillance to keep tabs on people.Other than a few minor differences in story,character motivation and the lack of the AI concept this is basically a carbon copy of Person of interest.
I have always thought the movie Minority Report was one of the most overrated sci/fi films. the show sucks as well. Like you said outside of the predicting crimes part its not the same way and even the the predicting crimes part is different in its own ways despite both being A.I related.
