Stonebridge's yank accent ain't bad

It's not as good as Laurie's House but I wonder if people know he's British.

reply

Well then you'll probably be more impressed with his British accent, because he is actually American.

reply

Pretty easy when you're a Yank. He does do a fair British accent.

reply

He sounds pretty British here, when he says, "I'm really more a Brit."
Interview in the UK:

Then watch this interview in the US:

His accent starts US then ends up UK in this interview, strange:

I'm a dual UK/US citizen and my accent goes back and forth depending where I am, but his is extreme, prolly playing to his audience.

But you can hear the UK coming out in his Player character a bit.

It's funny that Stapleton is from Oz.

reply

I looked him up because i wanted to know if he was putting on an accent in the show, cos i'm hearing British & American in his voice. So, it turns out he spent some time in England when he was younger and has been back a few times for work. I think he's effectively an expat, and depending on the situation he reverts to an English man.

reply

Did you watch the youtube interviews I posted above? He really fluctuates his accent depending where he is, but on the Player you can hear some UK squeak out.

reply

I think the reason he slips up a few times and sounds British on the show is because he's working so closely with a Brit Charity Wakefield (Cassandra). When he's around Brits he speaks with a British accent and around Americans his accent changes back to American.

He must really have a good ear for languages since he can change back and forth so easily.

He's american though...

reply

Dude is actually American. Shows how good his accent was on Strikeback.

Yeah he lived in Britain for a while, so people really should be complimenting him for his British accent. And people saying he pulls off a good American accent, the dude actually grew up in Montana so he better be good at having an American accent.

reply

Understood, but look at the youtube links I posted above.

reply

It's shocking!
