Agree! I will be tuning in every week.
shareI'm loving it Of the four premières I had hope for (The Player, Limitless, Minority Report and Blindspot) This is the one, and possibly Limitless, I can see myself sticking with for the long haul. Seriously considering dropping Minority report if no improvement next week and same for Blindspot, but may give that a few more episodes before I decide.
shareI'm loving The Player, Blindspot(it needs to up the action for being so gritty), Limitless is damn good too! I'm loving how Stonebridge is using his Strike Back moves in the show really well episode 2 was miles better than the pilot which is a good sign! Plus that shootout in the rundown casino/arcade was gangster
shareNot the same concept, but the feel/tone of the show reminds me a lot of Human Target. Action on the go. Plot be damned, this show is a blast.
I'm so hip I have trouble seeing over my pelvis.
The premise (as sold in the pilot) is kinda sucky. The ultra-rich are bored, and therefore, gamble on the outcome of human tragedy. Therefore, the top 1% of the top 1% are all heartless d-bags. Oh, but the GAME serves as a safety valve just like Vegas does for the minions who need to vent out their baser impulses, otherwise they would instead topple governments, assassinate Presidents, and fix the outcomes of monster truck rallies and professional wrestling matches--THOSE EVIL BASTARDS!!!
IF the premise itself turns out to be something otherwise (like Cassandra and Johnson actually being forces for good, covertly, while manipulating the baddies into outting themselves) then maybe I can stomach it.
While Winchester is no master thespian, the show itself isn't exactly a tour de force of high caliber acting.

With so much weak premieres this year, The Player has been one of the better 2 or 3 so far. It's a shame the ratings are so bad.
Thursday is a tough place to compete, and even harder when NBC stupidly starts the night with Heroes: Reborn which sets-up a low rated night from the get go.
Unless anything changes, The Player will not last long.
Guess I'll have to make do with Quantico and Limitless for now.
Note to self: Rent Drive.
