what's with Wincester's accent

in the pilot he was talking English, now in ep 4 he's gone full yank mode. i'm getting very tired of brits polluting their accept to suit american TV. his real accent is way better than a generic american accent and there is no reason an Englishman wouldn't fit the part (unlike Andrew Lincoln and Damien Lewis who do play characters that need to be american i guess).

Uhhh, what? The dude is from Montana. He's spent time in the UK and did a fairly convincing accent in 'Strike Back,' but this is his normal accent...

Are you British, DeAd_MiKe_187? I don't think I've heard a Brits opinion on Winchester's English accent. I've always been told that it is remarkably good. He played Edward in King Lear at the Royal Shakespeare Company's Courtyard Theatre with Ian Mckellen after all. That's not bad for a Montana boy if you ask me.

Winchester did not sound British to me in the pilot at all. Actually it freaked me out at first that there was no trace of Michael Stonebridge in his performance at all. But now I can appreciate Alex Kane for who he is. Philip Winchester is not a bad actor in my opinion.

He is American born and raised in Montana although his mother is British. I like the British accent too! It's very convincing. Of course that may just be to me an American.

As a Brit I was actually impressed with Phillips English accent.... Even though I thought it was weird he was American and played a Brit but they used an Aussie to play an American ?

Thanks. I always wondered if he was convincing for you Brits as well.

I certainly can't tell he isn't British in this scene https://youtu.be/8u4fBBjg12s It is kind of funny that so many people actually believe he's a Brit.

I remember reading that during the filming of Strike Back it was a problem for Sully the Aussie that he couldn't ask Philip how to pronounce words in American because he didn't want to trip up Philip's English accent :)
