Why was everything in the diner so expensive?
22 dollars for a hamburger
90 for a gallon of ice cream?
Even if you figure it's Canadian dollars, that's still 17 and 68 bucks, respectively.

It's an island... Maybe everything is imported. lol
shareCause we take it in the a$$ in Canada, see our gasoline prices?
Seriously tho I don't know and was coming here wondering the same thing.
I did pay 65 dollars American once for a 6 pack of beer and a medium pizza at the Marriott in St. Kitts. I'm thinking Island tourist trap?
While I did see a hamburger listed for $22, where did you see $90 for a gallon of ice cream?
The only ice cream prices I saw were: pints 30 something, quarts 55 something and half gallons 90 something. I couldn't make out the currency symbol, but it came after the figures, so it's not likely to be dollars (more like cents, but then it seems too cheap).
Tourist prices. Just like asking for an English language menu in a foreign country- people that do that deserve to get gouged.

telling the truth is a revolutionary act."
George Orwell
The diner is this place, it's in Langley BC. The $22 burger has 3 x 5oz patties and they do a challenge for eating it. It's an authentic 50s diner with homemade food, that's why some of the food is more expensive. You pay for quality.

haha! if this movie was any good I'd rewind and watch for the prices but it's not worth it.
