Who else laughed? I thought it was completely strange, and I couldn't help but laugh! I thought it was a joke. They should've kept the Beyonce remix there or find another song...I'm excited for the full length trailer though! Hope the guy singing it is actually good at covering a memorable Queen B song ~
It honestly sounds like something the Wayans brothers would use in their spoof of Darker/FSOG. That doesn't sound like Ed, it sounds like Jamie to me. Either way, it was weird--and creepy--and not in a good way. Now, I think they're just messing with the fans to see what bs they can get away with and still make money.

I just figured out what Beyonce song that was supposed to be at the end. LOL! It was unrecognizable. _______________ Conservatives, I hear your complaints. What are your solutions?
It's rare to really hear variations of native English speakers in songs. I don't know if you ever took voice lessons, but the exaggerated vowel sounds are similar to the British dialect. But yes, hearing the guy sing in the trailer no longer sounds like Jamie. I just honestly don't know if I like it. Maybe I would if I liked Beyonce, but I just don't know.
It pains me to say it, but the trailer already looks better than the entire FSOG film. I'm happy for Jamie's sake and hope to see this film undo a little damage the first had done. I hope the music will be better and the wardrobe. It can't really be worse than the first, but looking at some stills, Ana's wardrobe is still a little odd. I am, however, in love with that grey dress. That is my favorite, favorite kind of dress.
I actually see Jamie on screen rather than Christian. For me, that's a good thing. The first film he was unrecognizable, but this it seems he interjected more of himself into Darker. Maybe that's his saving grace.

Hi stacy, I agree about the trailer looking better than the Fifty Shades of Grey film. Shows what a real director can do. I loved Dakota's hair and make-up. I love the bias-cut silver dress. Bias-cut gowns were huge in the 1930s, the epitome of glamour. I wrote about them in my own work.
I don't think this one, no matter how good it will be, will make the same money as the first. It will be a hit though.
come on, the trailer for the first film was so much better, like waaaaay better, the shots looked cleaner a lot more aesthetic, this one looks meeeeh. The song ruined it entirely and the trailer editing even the fonts damm, looks like windows movie maker is back.
Damm son, the marketing and art department were good in the first film, the script was terrible, the source seems to be just plain boring badly written randomness, this trailer was so blatantly stupid compared to the first one, it will be eaten alive by ¨fast 8¨ with such a weak ass trailer, probably only good for fans, the first one had a global market, it was an event movie, this one is just sooooooo weak, sooooo weak, reminds me of Independence 2 marketing on a smaller scale. There are plenty of arguments marketing and film wise, and the fan base of 50 shades that comes on imdb is not really that reliable or relevant.
As noted before, megaruda, I disagree with you. Fans of the book had been waiting for the first film and were willing to gobble up anything.
Darker will open on Valentine's Day, make the bulk of its money in the first two weeks, then the box office will drop off; I have a feeling the drop will not be as precipitous as it was with the first film. Darker won't make over half a billion as the first film did, but should make a healthy profit.
I rarely fight over box office, but it doesnt look healthy for this. Tiene are ways to fix it, but this first trailer was beyond weak like for the general audiences who fell asleep in the first film anyways.

Ok, Seamus McGarvey. Settle down. Your work was fine too.

I didn´t even know such an experienced DP had shot it, my expectations were lower, either way I am a fan of the marketing team, art department and cinematography was fine, the film is crap, I think it is impossible to do anything better due to the source material.
Crazy is mentioned in the FSD book by Ana - so I think it was used partially because of that. I liked it in the trailer. I'm sure the rest of the soundtrack will be amazing as well.
