Starzshine and Isundling can't be excited about this!

A new article claims that, now, Fifty Shades Darker could make history. They anticipate it winning the Razzie for:

Worst Actress
Worst Actor
Worst Adapted Screenplay
Worst Supporting Actor
Worst Supporting Actress
Worst Picture
Worst Director
Worst Musical Score

And just add insult to injury... Let's say that this piece of s*** does make money. Guess what? The Razzies already have a category for that that they're looking forward to:

Worst Written Film Grossing Over $100 Million.

Also:

Worst Excuse for an Actual Movie (All Concept/No Content)
--They gave this out to The Cat in the Hat in 2003, but are looking towards Fifty Shades Darker this time.

But it gets worse.

They are also considering lifetime achievement Razzies.

Worst Author in History:
E.L. James

Worst Actress of all time:
Dakota Johnson

Worst Actor of all time:
Jamie Dornan

And to think that Hugh Dancy is in this... I will never understand wtf was going on in his head when he decided to get involved in this crap. Such a waste, especially considering that he was just starting to get serious roles. I'm afraid this will forever tarnish his career.

Real funny. Don't tell me that you're also another E.L. James apologist like Starzshine and Isundling. Are you?

Ugh? I suggest you read my comment again.

Okay, fair enough. I just saw the article from Vanity Fair, but he's not listed on IMDB, so I'm confused. I apologize; I thought you were trying to *beep* with me. But you're probably not an idiot, like Starzshine and iSundling.

In any case, I don't necessarily blame the actors for trying to make a buck. It's tough to make it in the business. But I always look forward to what they say "after the movie." In time I think Jamie Dornan will admit that the movies and books are god-awful and will acknowledge this. But I guess, right now, he's in promotion-mode (even though he's hinted in interviews that he rightfully thinks the movies and books suck), so he's staying silent...for now!

Okay, no problem. Well from what I know from his fanbase, the reason why he isn't listed on IMDB anymore is because a fan that was apparently very concerned about his career removed him from the credits and is still managing to make it remain like that.

Honestly, I'm tired of the "I gotta make a buck" excuse from the actors being involved in this. There are so many other projects they could take on for that, but no, they have to choose THE movie that is famously known for romanticizing and trivializing abuse. Worst thing is they are perfectly aware of that, and that's what appals me the most: knowing that they are willing to be in such a misogynistic piece of *beep* just to make easy money. C'mon dude, even with your "small" salary, I'm pretty sure you still earn way more than a regular person ever will. And I get that you have to earn a living, but are you desperate to that point? You can always do a romcom or whatever. It will NEVER be as bad as this. And yes, you'll certainly earn less, but at least you still have your dignity.

I respectfully disagree--to an extent. I think that, yes, if you're even a minor star, you can choose your roles. But when you're not offered that much and you have a chance to be in this mega-hit (don't get me wrong, it will suck, but idiots like Starzeshine and iSundling will still go 10 times, and this piece of s*** will still make money), this is your ticket to fame.

As mentioned, this will probably have a sweep at the Razzies and isundling will still come to this board and make a feeble, embarrassing attempt to defend this piece of s***. (She has claimed that she wants to go to her grave with the books and DVDs, which would be pathetically hilarious if it wasn't so sadly true.) But I look forward to interviews a year or so from now, when people like Dornan, Fanning, and the other stars admit, "Wow, those movies and books were unbelievably bad."

But you have to understand their situation: Jamie Dornan has no career right now; Dakota Fanning has no career right now; the supporting cast has no career (and as pointed out, they're even attempting to remove their names from the movie). They are clinging to this for money only. I think that Jamie and Dakota will eventually (rightfully) denounce this piece of garbage series and its misogynistic perspective, but in the meantime they are doing what most actors in their situation would do.

Again, this movie is going to be pathetic; I don't disagree and I actually agree with most of your argument. But I do have somewhat of an understanding for them doing it, and acknowledging that they'll later trash this piece of s*** series (much to isundling's sadnesss and hurt).

Go tell that to a sexual assault survivor.

reply

Okay, I'm not disagreeing with you. You're probably right.

I'm all for sex in movies, but these movies are terrible examples. My only point was that these actors probably have no interest in the politics or messages of stupid *beep* movies like this anyways.

Hollywood is notorious for producing movies that they don't agree with. I fully expect Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson to eventually say how stupid these movies are.

P.S. You're probably right if these moronic movies had a serious message. But they don't and are laughed at by all book critics and movie critics, at how amazingly bad they are. Thus I don't think you have anything to worry about as to anyone taking them seriously about anything misogynistic.

By the way, I donate money each year to multiple charities, including women's fight against spousal abuse, rape, legal rights, equal pay for equal work, etc.
