Moving Ratings

Looking for honest answers. Has there ever been a movie you really wanted to go see, but changed you'r mind after reading about the ratings? And never saw that movie ever? Because strangers told you not to? I'm a big girl and can make up my own mind on what I want to see. I don't follow ratings and I don't look them up. Like I said I will make up my own mind on what I want to see and judge it on my own opinions. What other people rate a movie really means so much that you change you'r mind?

There have been a few movies that got really bad ratings on RT...I took a chance, and some I enjoyed...word of mouth counts a lot for me, but again, depends on the source..if I am a fan of the books, and then made into movies I will usually give them a chance..but..it has to be something I am interested in..I have never seen a Harry Potter movie yet..nor Spiderman..but I loved The Avengers and most of the Marvel universe..sometimes it is a certain director..or actor/actress..varies.

That's not what Im asking. Have you ever NOT watched a movie because of the ratings? You saw the previews...liked it...wanted to watched it...BUT changed you'r mind cause the ratings said it sucked?

I'd like to hear from the biggest asshats...err critics on this board. briantriple loser and his dom mya mia. You wanted to see a movie but refused because some critics told you different? You only go to movies with the highest ratings right?

I once saw trailers of 'London Has Fallen', 'The Angry Birds Movie' & 'Batman V Superman' and I'm really interested to go see those when it got out in theaters... until I saw the ratings. I've never watched watch them since. There's one more that because of the ratings I didn't watch it in theaters but I watched it by streaming, which is 'The Huntsman: Winter's War'. I found it quite decent actually.

The answer is No I probably wouldn't see it if it was bashed left right and centre, The cinema is expensive and I'm really not prepared to waste money on somthing I'm not really going to enjoy or is going to make me fall asleep, However if it ever came round on Netflix or tv and I had nothing better to do I would give it a go, hell some movies that are notoriously ripped apart eg this one, Jupiter ascending etc I would defiantly watch when they came round on tv or netflix just because I'm intrigued as to see What all the OTT Hate is about, not so long ago Catmoman was on I decided to watch it because for years that film has been the but of so many movie goers jokes and I wanted to see if all that Hate it got was deserved, It was, but I'm still glad I watched it because now I can join in the joke aswell, if you know what I mean.

I used to do that, but I don't anymore. I actually prefer to hear bad reviews over great reviews now.

I can't stand when people hype a movie up so much, that I expect it to be so great, and then it's really not. An example of that would be The Avengers (2012). I heard nothing but excellent reviews about the movie. Someone even told me it was the greatest movie they had ever seen. I was excited to watch it, but I left disappointed. It's not that it was a very bad movie, but I had such high expectations, it made me not really like it afterwards.

I heard pretty bad reviews about the movie Passengers (2016) and decided to go see it anyway with my boyfriend. I ended up LOVING it. I wanted to go see it a second time around, so now I'm just waiting for it to come out on dvd :)
