Just finished watching it.
Burned through all 6 episodes on STAN (aussie streaming service) in one sitting. 4 1/2 hours worth. All up I'd give it a solid 8.5 out of 10.
Great show, could use around a 20 minute trim to be honest with a little extra fluff here and there that amounted to more or less exposition that went nowhere, but overall it's a solid as hell show.
It's nowhere near as gory as WOLF CREEK 2, it's gorier than WOLF CREEK 1. It gives you a bit more insight into Mick Taylor (moreso near the end than at the beginning) and gives you *plenty* of kills by him.
The tone is a mix of part 1 and 2, the kills more in line with part 1's kills rather than 2's over the top extreme kills. There's little to no comedy unlike part 2, it's played straight as hell.
Wolf Creek the series is more about the weird world of the Aussie outback, it's denizens, the strange people that inhabit it, than straight up just about Mick Taylor. People come and go from the series, dispatched in different ways, sometimes by different people than Mick, but they always leave a decent mark on the show. It's a damn good show, it's a bloody good addition to the Wolf Creek storyline and I'm personally hoping for a season 2. I don't really honestly *care* if we never get a "Wolf Creek 3", because this opened up the world in a way the movies never did, giving us a logical extension, resolution to part 1, continuation of the fate of someone we know... and someone you never really thought you were curious about until you see the show... you'll know who :)
I'm not going to give away what happens in the end. Would season 2 need to be a prequel series? Even if it does need to be (does it?) would that be a bad thing? Exploring the history of Mick Taylor? Hmmmm...
Enjoy.
8.5/10. Deserving of a 2nd season that's for sure.
