The Speculation Game (Spoilers and more spoilers)

Let's throw out some ideas for what could happen in the aftermath or in a theoretical second series.

------
Eve:

I'd imagine that Eve would return to America never to be seen again, although she might make a cameo or two.

She went off with her Maori truck driver friend to Perth, so she's already halfway gone.

The fact that she dropped the bowie knife at the end suggests that she has symbolically renounced violence and that she's 'done' with revenge, despite possibly knowing deep down that Mick is still alive. She didn't see the body in the burned house. Surely she must have realised that he had somehow gotten free. Maybe she was too overwhelmed by the brutality to continue the hunt. She'd certainly maimed him. Maybe that was enough for her.

It's unlikely that she'll return to javelin throwing any time soon, especially if she throws with her left. She might return to athletics and compete in the Olympics, though.

Career: Ideally, she would become some kind of CIA agent or counter-terrorism professional. She's had quite good practice at hunting down enemies of the state. She's good at operating on her own and in a foreign desert. Imagine what she could do with proper training and equipment. She nearly killed Mick Taylor with a spear for god's sake!

------
Mick:

I'll say that he's alive. He's the heart of the entire franchise. You don't kill the heart if you aren't killing the show. You also don't show his truck being driven away at the end.

He'll probably be in a lot of pain from now on. Those spears would have done him serious damage. If he's not in a wheelchair, he'll at least be doped up on Eve's leftover painkillers.

He will return to his life of crime, no doubt, but there might be a few months of recovery before he can pull out his trusty bowie and rifle again.

------
Sullivan:

He'll probably still be dead.

------
The psycho van rapist:

Hopefully he dies from a blood clot caused by the bullet Eve shot into his leg.

reply

Wasn't the psycho rapist the one hanging from the tree upside down with his manhood cut off? Courtesy of Mick?

reply

Good point. Slipped my memory, that one.

The show did me one better!

reply

The only thing I could think about when she dropped and knife is how her finger prints are all over it and there is a dead policeman under a tree who has been stabbed with it, she could not of been sensible enough to Wipe the handle of her prints before ditching it, I reckon she's going to be on the run in the outback and shadows as she is now seen as a wanted multi-murderer.

I would be pretty happy if Mick isn't dead, without him there are no more series or films, and I want more!

reply

Mick takes her on as an apprentice?

reply

That would be the shortest lived apprenticeship in history. It would end badly for somebody.

reply

Except that she's a foreigner so there'd be no record of her fingerprints or DNA in any Australian database. Considering that her family are gone, she has no other ties to anybody and Mick has vanished into the wind, I'd say she's in the clear... unless a fully recovered Mick hunts her down somewhere down the line.

But... there is still the family of bikies who know that she killed their brother/son. She still has some other enemies left who would want her dead.

reply

She was arrested by the cops for drugs when sh crashed into the cop car tho, and booked, and then she escaped so they could well of had her finger prints from that, and were her prints on the gun she shot the biker with? Just a thought !

reply

It's possible. I wouldn't think it likely that police located so far from any major city would bother recording fingerprints. In such places, everyone tends to know everyone and criminals stand out a mile - especially interlopers. I guess that would be an issue for Eve, though.

reply

Take notice of the image that appears after the floor has been mopped, then his truck is seen driving off back into the outback.

I believe that Mick Taylor did die, but is now much more powerful in spirit than he was when alive.

His haunting and the (Wolf Creek franchise) can now "live" on for eternity.

reply

Oh god no.

He'd kill everyone in the country.

reply

LOL, so very true!

reply

Even if he truly is dead, there is still room for more show.

Perhaps a prequel series set in the time between Wolf Creek 1 and Wolf Creek 2. There was an interval of 14-15 years. Surely he must have been up to no good during that time.

We would know that Eve would be his death, but Eve would be years away.

Maybe the series could centre around a cold-case investigation team trying to uncover all of Mick's murders. They might unearth some very interesting new details.

reply

There is a Wolf Creek book series with plenty of material to draw on for sequels ... young Mick growing up on a station, his time in Vietnam, etc.

In fact, the mini-series already used some of the book material with the flashbacks to Mick's childhood.

Due to the lack of moderators, trolls can ruin the IMDB message boards. Don't feed them.

reply

I seriously need to read those now.

reply

i loved that first book!

Oh, and they arent turning Mick into a spirit or a Jason Vorhees type. thats stupid and not even part of what Makes Mick scary

reply

Nah Mick died. He was impaled thrice. No one can survive that. His body was doused with petrol so it was burned to ashes, which is why his body was not there. The post-credits scene shows a face form in the bathroom floor and Mick's vehicle being driven. Anyone could be driving that vehicle now. A reminder of the mad man whose reign of terror ended, but his impact will linger on.

reply

There'd have been charred remains. Mick's still out there. He only got shoulder / non-vital organ wounds.
Agree that Eve has given up her hunt, was simply not going to let Mick be her primary reason for existence any longer.

And who else was gonna be driving the truck, c'mon :P
