yeah we need this
...like a hole in the head :(
shareMick Taylor would be happy to oblige.
shareWe gotta see how it ends.

Like all the cliche, try-hard American garbage being peddled by Hollywood?
They bought a house.
What a predictable post lol
Did you actually think that was clever?
I'm really looking forward to this.
We NEED is as much as we NEED any other horror film or TV show.
this was actually terrible.. i love the original movie btw.. but this was so awful (acting not included which was fine), that I'll be writing my first review in a long long time.. It got so many things wrong, was so annoying and damn it was 4 hours too long.
I am so disappointed after really looking forward to it, and my genuine rating is 3/10, simply because Lucy did a great job at the accent.. 0 stars for the show itself..If the acting all round wasn't of high quality i would have given it 1 out of 10. it was barely redeemable at any stage. Well ok, the first episode was ok. That was it. Truly.
I disagree. The show was compelling and interesting. It treaded a fine line between realism and drama and got it right a lot of the time.
What precisely did you take issue with?
SPOILERS:
zero tension.. zero caring..
but most of all, maximum character stupidity..
serial killers like Mick exist.. people who would make repeatedly stupid decisions don't.. no one would have done what she did, especially the last scene after ALL THAT, not checking to make sure he was dead. it was beyond ridiculous. ANYONE would make 100% sure he was dead.. tell me after he butchered your family and you spent weeks chasing him and he almost killed you over and over, that you wouldn't put the knife through his head to be 100% sure.
90% of the characters she met were scum. As if! She just met scum after scum.. this country is not like that.. who the hell would EVER want to travel to the outback after seeing this.. the whole place was portrayed as disgusting filth with um, constant scum. Such BS..
Most unrealistic cop decisions.. not releasing the sketch on the news and not making a big deal of an international family getting butchered? Come on.. the whole thing was SO ridiculous.. the biggest mistake was her escaping and going to the cops.. it could never redeem itself after that as it was just again, all so stupid. What would have worked is if she never made it to the police and was stuck in a tense cat and mouse with Mick from the start through the end..oh and mick.. sure.. almost no screen time till the last episode.. WTF? 5 seconds here and there..
It was all junk filler and so poorly written..honestly i tortured myself because i kept thinking it would improve and i liked the very first movie (which HAD nail biting tension), and after the half way mark i decided i would just get through it to see how it ended.. but it was very very difficult to get through..
I'm lowering my very generous rating.
Having stuck a grand total of 3 spears through Mick's chest, witnessing him lose consciousness and burning the house down with him inside, who would then rationally assume that there was any chance in hell that he had survived?
Would you really want to go and take a look at a charred corpse of the man who murdered your family and who you had fought with and 'believe' brutally killed the night before? I don't know about you, but I'd be repulsed by that. I'd assume that most people would be. It's disgusting. Her response is perfectly realistic.
Perhaps she didn't want to put the knife through his head because she A: thought he was dead and B: had had enough of the brutality. This is a 19 year old girl. She's just a bloody kid. When she shot those two men, she immediately felt regret and remorse on both occasions despite knowing that they each had earned it. She's not a psychopath who enjoys brutality. Far from it. She's only in it to get even and bring some balance back to her world.
This country isn't full of scum...? News to me. Walk down any city backstreet alley and you'll spot bikies and meth-heads roaming around. They're real and they're everywhere. Why should the outback be any different? If anything, it'd probably be worse due to lower socio-economic standards and the lack of infrastructure, opportunities and education. This country is full of drunkard, inbred scum and a hell of a lot more of it than the series portrayed. That was just a tiny sample of the scum Australia contains.
What exactly is wrong with portraying most people who she meets as scum? Where is the drama value if everyone she meets is friendly, polite and courteous? How many serious TV dramas do that? Name one!
Did we at any point see the news in this show? How do we know that the deaths of her family weren't reported on heavily in the media?
When Eve escaped from the jail cell she didn't go to 'the cops', just Sullivan - a cop who she assumed she could potentially trust. Again - she's a kid and can still trust people. Not only that, but her parents were both cops. She knew cops. Where the hell would anybody go if their entire family was slaughtered other than to the cops?
Mick was a rare sight in WC1. That was one of the contributing factors to its appeal and suspense. In WC2, he was there all the time, reducing the suspense and turning it into a one-sided action film. The show tried to channel WC1 in this regard, showing him less often.
What you call 'junk/filler' is what I call fleshing out the stage. That is a hallmark of realism in TV shows. They don't just show you the interesting flashpoints, they show the mundane backdrop too to allow more accurate juxtaposition.
I think the reason why you believe that this series lacked the "nail-biting tension" of WC1 is that the protagonist was transcending her role as a victim. She was strong enough to resist Mick and his world, even to thrive in it. She wasn't just trying to escape like Liz/Kristy/Ben/Paul were. She was as much a hunter as Mick. It was less of a cat and mouse and more of a cat and cat.
completely agree with everything you said, I loved this series and have watched it a second time.
sharethere's nothing wrong with you enjoying different shows to me, so please by all means. I disagree with every single point you've just made, but if i rebut it point by point which will take my time, then you'll just do it again and it will keep going round and round and never ending. So it's silly to even bother, as you thought it was smart, and i thought it was junk. Just one thing I will say.. i never said she was the mouse, and you very well know i meant it as a figure of speech. I am really sure in that time the only people she would meet besides the cops are sluts, murderers and gang members.. ONLY... yeah right. So ridiculous..ok i'm out of this, enjoy.
Sorry but your reasons for calling this "terrible" are flawed.
The other poster has proven this and that is why you have chosen to run away and stop replying.
you are ridiculous
sharei actually liked all the filler. Eve was dumb all of a sudden at the end though. Mick has to survive for the movies, so whatever.
Plot hole - Aspect of a film that is misunderstood or missed while using your smart phone.

your opinion means nothing to anyone but yourself
i liked it and thats all that matters to me
And thats all that matters - it was a great series.
None of the haters appreciate any of the magnificent music or photography , particularly at the Opal mine or the superb acting they just want to pick holes - dont you just hate these people who sit down and watch a movie but dont or cant suspend belief and just enjoy they are always watching out for bloopers or errors and deciding the whole thing is rubbish based on these minutae - they dont get it lol No appreciation for the photogrpahy , music , acting , casting etc...
Its uncle Frank Kirsty!
Its time to play!

It treaded a fine line between realism and drama and got it right a lot of the time.
Well done for explaining the reasons you hated it so much.
Coming along and just saying "This was actually terrible" is just pointless, isn't it?
it will all be in my very thorough review.. and i have given a rough overview as it stands..
What's the point of debating about a tv show and going around in circles? In my review I can say whatever i like in detail, and you can simply down or up vote it when it's done.
Like i said i find the previous poster's points ridiculous, which were all in rebuttal to my points on why i didn't like this series. I indeed have a rebuttal for each and every one of them but i have learned with forums, when an opinion with someone is that different, to just say NO and stop right there instead of getting into a BS internet heated debate. You are welcome to think what you like, it's not going to make a difference to my life in any way. Cheers
PS if it matters to you that much, in a nutshell, i expect a degree of realism in this sort of film.. something plausible.. after all it's not a superhero or supernatural film...and I found it about 95% stupid and unrealistic. All of which will be explained in the mega spoilers review.
Well, it's kind of your loss lol.
Your reasons for thinking the show was 95% stupid and unrealistic.....Are all flawed and have been disputed.
But obviously people don't like to be proven wrong so you will stand by everything you have said.
Nope, the arguments against my points were the flawed ones. See ya baiter.. get a life.. stop trying to instigate an argument when someone has politely said agree to disagree and move on.
I have a great life, cheers lol.
I just happened to of noticed that you were wrong about everything you said, that's all lol.
No need to cry about it.
you're the butt hurt one crying.. i just wanted to exit this conversation gracefully and tried to.. but it seems you are so desperate to keep it going that you will keep on replying.
To show how moronic your statement is, I have travelled multiple times around the country by car, in places most wouldn't even know existed, and the depiction of australians and 90% of them being psycho and her running into psycho after psycho is so off the mark and stupid, it can't even be quantified. The fact that you actually think that portrayal was realistic (after all, that was one of the arguments against my points), actually zeroes out any credibility to anything else you have ever written, as it is THAT ignorant and moronic to think that was in ANY way realistic. So i guess no matter what, anyone with a brain will know who is right and who is wrong.
Also, the score is dropping, and will continue to do so as more watch.. Furthermore, quite a few intelligent people have actually picked up on the the stuff i've been discussing themselves, and have made their own posts about it. I'll go and converse with them, as they have something between the ears.
Oh guess what mega troll... you get to have the last word, as this is the last time i will ever see a single thing you ever write or respond to you ever again. You are now on ignore.. have at it, i KNOW you will, but again i win as you'll be talking to thin air😁
I hate the word "butt hurt" it is what children say because they saw someone else type it on the net n think they will seem cool and fit in if they use it too lol.
WTF is it with kids on the internet and their delusions of people crying?
Funnily enough, I actually didn't really like this series.
(NEVER ASSUME!)
But it wasn't any less realistic than the films.
You say "why wouldn't she check his body to make sure he was dead?"
Yeah, that ain't what was unrealistic lol.
I wouldn't have checked him either because any actual human being would of been killed by 3 spears going straight through their body.
I found this show pretty boring.
It had flaws of course. But most of the flaws you listed, just aren't flaws....Just you being confused.
This is obviously devastating for you to hear since you are acting like a little girl and insinuating that I am upset when obviously it's you who's upset lol.
I know you wont reply anyway. People ALWAYS stop replying when they have been made to look a fool or proven wrong in anyway.
lmao... cant see the troll below's post, but i just knew he'd go for it one way or another:
(that's why i had tp reply to my own message, as the troll is blocked therefore no reply button.. he must really think i'm still reading his posts)
And yet.......You still replied ;)

No idea.. LMAO
Nothing will get me to view your messages. Nothing.
How terribly frustrating that must be for you
You're still replying....
shareThis argument is absolutely ridiculous...
I'm with Angel 100%... This show was a steaming pile of dog turd, full of time wasting drivel as filler, completely unrealistic characters in what can only be described as UNREALISTIC situations (how a guy cuts his own hand off and then tries to make out with Lucy Fry is beyond me... I mean, sure, she's hot... But come on now). Not to mention her constantly just bandaging up her wounds like popping band aids on a splinter (I guess it was only a Bowie knife through her shoulder in the final episode... Nothing a cuddle from a mutt won't fix). And all of this pales in comparison to how in-bred the entire series wanted to make out every character in the Australian outback to be (the guy she was buying the traps from.. My lord... Oh, and where in the yellow pages may I find directions to a guy who can sell me a black-market Uzi, please good sir?). Almost every character and extra were made to look like slime bag scum... All barring the token indigenous characters that is, of course.
Oh, and who really wants to know why Mick is the way he is after enduring all of this garbage?! Even he got annoying toward the end... Yet still managed to be about the only character that didn't actually deserve to die.
I have to pay some credit to Lucy Fry. I think she did a fine job acting out the crap she was given. Was it watchable? Barely. Maybe up until the end of episode 3 (but certainly not great at any point whatsoever, aside from the first 2 minutes when her family are slaughtered) after which I felt I had invested too much time to not just see the thing through. Seriously, to the people posting how great the show is, I think you're weird. To the ones actually arguing in defense of this absolute scrotum of a series... you must just be *beep* in the head!
I'll refrain from the beep in the head part but agree with everything else.. I didn't want to mention the token indigenous conveniently being the only non turds in this, but hey you have done that now so thanks.. but believe me, we noticed it too as did friends. I even agree with you about the time where it got really bad episode wise. Nice to know I am not alone.
Yes, barely watchable. Perfect summation right there. I must admit even the mick backstory felt totally tacked on and an afterthought and i actually couldn't give a flying crap whatsoever.. was totally unnecessary. You Joves, get shows! Cheers!
"you're the butt hurt one crying.. i just wanted to exit this conversation gracefully and tried to."
Normally, when someone wants to exit a conversation gracefully, that's what they do.
The whole concept of a forum is back and forth discussion. Period.
If you're not interested in that, do not post in the forum.
...in your opinion, anyway. I thought it was really well done... seems to be getting mostly positive reviews too.
