Why was she so sure (Spoilers)

Mick was dead at the end? She went into the burnt remains of the house and saw the spear in the wall and Mick's body was nowhere to be seen. Yet she goes on as if he's dead and her mission is over and moves on with her life.

And no his body couldn't have been burnt to ashes or anything they'd be a burnt corpse there for sure, the fire wasn't that bad, there was parts of the house still intact.

Thats what i love about these high school girls, i get older they stay the same age.

She had shoved 3 spears through his guts. She must have assumed that that was proof enough that he was dead.

Perhaps she didn't double check because she assumed that all she'd find was a burned corpse and she didn't want to see that.

reply

There was no skeleton. She wasn't stupid, she knows he's alive. But she exorcised her own demons and that was her victory. Knife drop.

This.

That may be but I think it ruined the story and her character.

"Oh well. I guess he lived and will start killing again. Not my problem."

Especially given that she could have sealed the deal and sliced his throat / killed him for certain when he was impaled and unconscious.

I thought something similar too... after all she's been through, surely she wouldn't just "stop", after seeing that he's probably still alive?

I just watched this series finally, and while I loved the show overall, I totally agree with your opinion that the ending kinda ruined everything since Eve could easily have killed him. It goes against everything we had seen so far, she kept saying she wanted to stop him from killing. I get the message about Eve deciding to move on, let her vengeance be satisfied and have a normal life, but damn, couldn't she have just cut that dude's throat? Or set HIM on fire instead of the house? Also, the last episode seemed to drag quite a bit, which is really annoying in a finale.

I'd like to have seen him appear either when Eve's Maori friend picked her up or when the Aborigine was watching them driving off in the distance.

Did you see the post credit scene?

reply

It was some mystical claptrap introduced in the finale. Mick was one of the two angels of death and so was rightly gone as far as she was concerned.
