Why the pencil?
At the end of the film, the kid frantically tries to balance a pencil on the outside of his bedroom door. What was the point of that?
shareSo the mom thinks he never left his room after he was put to bed, therefore having nothing to do with the events that took place.
There's a whole scene near the beginning where the mom explains the pencil to the babysitter.
