(I'm not seeing feminist propaganda, and here's why) LOL
(At best, maybe it was attempting to be. But if so, it failed. Slapping some girl power feminism in a movie is no real surprise as it's a product of our time right now, I see no point in getting mad about it being displayed. But if this movie was somehow attempting to showcase feminism under a positive light, it did a poor job.
1. A small group of girls decide they want to be independent, yet have no idea as to what they're doing or how to get there, so they employ a man, Teddy, to help them along. They learn how to succeed as a feminist sorority from a frat guy. Had it not been for him, they'd be back in their dorm. That's a fail on independence.
Then they get in a battle with the old people/nuclear family (AKA the "partriarchy") and things go back and forth a little bit, then the "patriarchy" lands a hard blow by infesting their home with bed bugs.
2. Now that the feminists had to pay a bunch of money to fumigate, they brainstorm on what to do to earn back the money they lost. They come up with a bunch of dumb ideas, and carelessly kick out the only one trying to use logic (Teddy) because, well, they didn't like it. That's a fail on logic.
3. So Teddy joins the "patriarchy" and together they succeed in sabotaging the feminists' operation. So what happens next? The feminists decide to go against everything they stand for just to get back on their feet. They do that by throwing a party that welcomes men with money. They needed men, again, just to stay afloat. Another fail on independence.
4. Then they finally realize that everything they're doing is the opposite of what they set out for and are ready to disband, falling to....the "patriarchy". Now at this point, all the "patriarchy" had to do was sit back and watch the feminists crumble. But because they have a heart, they jump in and tell them to get their sh*t together. Little heartfelt speech happens, feminists regroup, everyone is happy. Why, that's another fail on independence.
So basically, the "patriarchy" made feminism its bitch, then helped it rebuild) LOL
