How did Alex escape after she was knocked down in disguise in front of everyone?

Why didn't they want to kill Alex in front of the hostages? Seems it would've been a good way to teach them all a lesson. Plus they'd just beheaded the First Lady in front of the whole world.
shareBecause if they were to do that, how could Alex escape the situation? While she is the greatest agent who ever agented, even she is outmatched by dozens of terrorists with guns aimed at her. But if they have one lone henchman take her to another room in a Dr. Evil logic type of plan to kill her, she can agent her way out of it. So the simple answer is, the terrorists needed a reason to let her escape because they're poorly written characters and Alex has a last name, therefore she cannot be killed. If the first lady had a last name, she would have been fortunate enough for a Dr. Evil plot herself and ninja skills to escape her death.
