Spotting your classmates following you must be easier
than the real thing. Plus the easier-to-see wired earpieces make it easier for civilians to spot you.

I thought that was odd. If the townsfolk are wise to your exercises, it's pretty easy to spot you doing one, especially since it's probably a pretty small town and any outsider would be quickly recognized as CIA.
You'd think the CIA would have the forethought to build earpieces into hats or headphones, something normal people would be wearing, instead of just the regular earpieces...
The thing that's weird about this to me isn't the earpieces (which when handled properly can pass for regular earphones used with mobiles and such), but the fact they let the townpeople in on their training program. Doesn't that make it easy for some disgruntled nut (whether someone from the town or some misanthrope who flunked out of class for example) to profile everyone setting foot there for future reference?
What would be really cool to me is if they not only didn't tell the townsfolk, but didn't handhold us as viewers. They should give us a wide angle shot and let us spot people watching Alex on our own instead of cutting between the character we're currently following and whoever is watching them like they did with both Ryan and Alex. Maybe we'll catch them later than the character does, maybe we won't. Great potential is being wasted there.
Emathy: but the fact they let the townpeople in on their training program. Doesn't that make it easy for some disgruntled nut (whether someone from the town or some misanthrope who flunked out of class for example) to profile everyone setting foot there for future reference?
I thought the same thing as you. First off, the CIA isn't going to let anyone know who's CIA and who's not. These towns people shouldn't know either. Maybe Owen said that to throw them off? Idk, but CIA wouldn't let anyone know where they train and more importantly, who they train.
