Yep Ryan is an A-HOLE, early on w/that flashback meeting at the farm b/w them three; they just happened to leave out Alex/Shelby w/their "meeting" what a coincidence NOT! This season 2 is just confusing w/all the flashbacks, present time, etc.. its getting OLD fast and I think a lot of viewers are giving up on this show b/c the ratings are horrible - they need to wrap whatever the writers are doing and END it NOW. There are other shows I rather be saved then this one, I'm still watching but not sure how much longer I can go w/this and the crappy writing. It pisses me off that Ryan would be involved in all of this, I guess he played Alex AGAIN!

The only problem I have with Ryan possibly being with the AIC is that he would known that the terrorist attack was going down on that specific day, so why would he bring Alex to the office to get the ring back at that exact moment?

Alex doesn't know he's involved at this point. Have to keep her thinking everything is normal

I know that but what I'm saying is he specifically requested her to come to the office to return that engagement ring at that time. He could have easily kept her away from the terrorist plot by just saying hey Alex come return the ring a day earlier and she would have just been at home watching tv or something when the terrorists attacked knowing that Ryan was inside and one of the hostages but not finding out he's involved.
