(Spoiler) Final conversation.

I felt that Simon's final conversation on the phone should have been with Nimah and not Alex. It would have been a lot more meaningful.

reply

It was with both, Alex put him on speaker and he asked about going out for a coffee sometime. He was talking to all his friends in that scene.

reply

That would be Raina he asked to tea. Nimah is the twin who was always making disparaging remarks to him.

But the conversation was for all to hear, which I think was appropriate given that they were all showing a united front. Everyone was there for him in his final moments and he wasn't alone and invisible like he'd always thought.

It was Alex who made a frenzied call to Simon whereas I feel that it should have been Raina (I stand corrected). Everyone got to talk to him once he was put on speaker, but it should've been Raina who spoke to him first. It is my personal view.

Ah I see.

I thought you meant the entire phone conversation (which is where I liked that everyone could hear) but as far as the initial call, yes, I can see Raina doing it since she had a deeper connection with him. I guess since Alex is the main character it made sense for her to do it since she was always front and center.

Regarding Raina vs Nimah, no one should fault you for mixing them up. The show did a horrible, sh!te job of differentiating between the two of them most of the time. Very rarely could I tell which was which and when I could, I found I couldn't care less.

reply

Thank you for saying this! I kept thinking it was just me that couldn't tell them apart most of the time.

I didn't see a problem with Alex calling Simon in the last scene, but I felt she should have only said "we love you' and leave it at that, and not add the extra "I love you"

I guess the writer felt it will be too heart breaking if Raina said 'I love you' to Simon at that moment. Or it may make Simon try and save himself and not die as expected. I did like that he and Raina did talk and it was emotional -- and the tea comment was amusing (they've talked about tea or coffee since early episodes)

Also, earlier in the episode Raina was urging him to help everyone and defuse the bomb when they found out about it. And he listened quietly. But she ran after him when he took off with it in the car. It was romantic how she ran after him desprately before the others did. He made the ultimate sacrifice for her and everyone.

honestly, i still wonder if he's actually dead. i mean, he says "I've come back from the dead before" on the phone and technically, he could have unbuckled his seatbelt and escaped somehow. the show is twisted enough, it could happen. we haven't seen behind all of the masks yet in Season 2.
