To me they left it vague... Yeah he didn't leave the knife in, so she prob bled... I am thinking they left it open ended depending on audience's reactions to the character...

Agreed. Forum loss is a big thing. I'll not visit IMDB nearly as much now. To what? Just rate a movie? No thanks.

shareI was pretty happy with how easily he dispatched her. I mean John Wick has killed hundreds of highly trained men at this point in the movie, what's a 105lb girl going to do in a fist fight? It was over in like 15 seconds.
Also, isn't the ability to hear pretty important in this line of work?

shareShe clearly could hear people talking (or is very good at lip reading) So i assumed she wasnt deaf. Sign language could have just been her 'thing' but I was kinda letting myself believe that she had her tongue cut out or something.
sharefrom what I saw, John Wick was at a distance from Ares as he said, "Loose Ends?" she understood what he said. so, at first, I thought she's a mute. but, here's where I'm a bit confused. she fought John one on one and when John broke her arm, she screamed or winced in pain. so, it's possible she's NOT a mute.
so, no one can tell if she's deaf or mute. she may be very good at lip reading, but I'm good myself too, but I don't think anyone can read lips that far with a beard, which can be difficult to read. so there's a gap in her character. maybe someday we might have an answer, but right now we can only guess.

It was cool, but to me the fight scene felt weak as the fight with Common in the subway train, they should have used actors who know how to fight

She doesn't survive in Resident Evil either. I'll be seeing John Wick 2 today. I loved the first movie. It was so good.

I don't care for Ruby Rose at all but I do think its pretty impressive she's in 3 action movies all in theaters at the same time. John Wick 2, XXX, and you just reminded me of Resident Evil.
John Wick 2 was by FAR the best of the 3.

She died. John stabbed Cassian in the same area (aorta) however left the blade in place so he would live. In the case of her stabbing, the blade was immediately removed and thus bled out in seconds.
She may not have died!!!

sharePretty sure she's dead, she got the cool look but not the character, it's awkward and unnecessary, that body search scene has no point, I'd rather watch more scenes of John Wick fighting Cassian. It'd be ridiculous if Ares shows up in the sequel as she's such a weak assassin .
