Ava DuVernay's directing
Anyone else find her directing style boring? This and Selma bored me to death. I don't know what it is.
shareI was having an issue with this as well. She's a great visual director. The color tones and lighting are gorgeous. When she shoots landscapes, it's like art. But yes, the content/action/dialogue is absolutely boring. She needs more scenes like the one in the hospital parking lot between Ralph Angel and Blue's mother. No screaming but such a real scene and powerful.
