Gee, thanks OWN :(

Being deaf, at in the year 2017, one would think captions would be easy for television. I was really excited to see this tonight but the captions were all off. They were delayed at times and because of that, some of it made no sense. I'm used to that with live television captions but a drama series should not have that problem.

Disappointed.

Totally agree. The CC was off and the dialogue was low. I guess they won't be getting an Emmy for Outstanding Sound Mixing or Editing. LOL

You should try to contact OWN about it. Amazingly, they captioned the trailer for "Queen Sugar" on YouTube, so I think there must be staff who can address this.

Captions were on for me somewhat delayed by like half a second. I have Direct TV.

reply

I get it. Definitely contact own, or if you have twitter tweet Ava or Oprah.

reply

Yes they are, but sometimes that's the fault of the network or the agency captioning the show.

reply

So far, the captions and sound have been pretty bad. I thought there was some problem with my TV. Bad sound and captioning aside, I'm truly enjoying this show!

reply

That's definitely something that should be important for them. The show is very good and everyone should be able to understand.

Agreed, but I had no problems with the sound or the captions. I'm not hearing impaired, but I like leaving the captions on.

I have FIOS and OWN is broadcast in HD. I know it's not broadcast that way with all cable providers, could that be part of the problem?

Maybe it's your provider. I often use CC even though my hearing is fine. That way I don't miss any dialogue. I have DirecTV and my CC was fine.
