A little slow but pretty darn good

I expected to be disappointed with this but was instead surprised how much I got pulled in after a couple of episodes. It moves a little slow so if you know that and don't expect a lot of pumped up drama, you may also appreciate and enjoy this. The story isn't new but the acting is pretty good.

I couldn't really figure out what was nagging at me about the series in the first episode. I think maybe possibly it was a little slow - or it could be that it was trying to pull together the different aspects of the three siblings lives in such a short time (the pilot) that the pacing seemed a little off.

Now - on the third episode - I'm enjoying it. Most of it has to do with the fact the it is beautifully shot. I live in Louisiana and it captures the hues of this place ... the green-ness of it all - very well. There's a tone to the show that seems sad, but not exactly. It seems overcast...but not exactly. That subtlety has been my favorite part this show so far. Looking forward to figuring out what exactly it is.

I was engaged with the relationship of the siblings. The fact they all seemed to have love for their father and I was interested to start seeing them bonding. When there's hope a series is going to last long I guess they seemto start off slow. I was drawn in from the start but I think that is funnily one thing that interested me. It means we have a lot to look forward to. You don't expect everything in one or even three episodes. I love that! You grow with the characters.

That's a really good point. Many of these new shows start off very strong with major plots all thrown at you at once in order to catch your attention. Inevitably, they end up fizzling out very quickly because the momentum is lost.

I guess that IS what I like about this series. It's slow but you feel like it's building towards something and wont fizzle out quite as fast.

There is plenty of time to explore all of the relationships.
