I literally wait w/baited breath from Wednesday to Wednesday for each episode. I haven't done that since "The Wire". This is the best show I've watched in YEEAARRRSSS......actually, it's the first scripted show I've watched in years!

I'm really enjoYing the pace and character development of the show. I wonder that's this board is slow due to
1. It's on OWN. I don't know how much viewership is on this network.
2. Slower paced show will probably turn off youngsters. Fast moving shows like Empire or fast talking shows like Scandal seems to be the rule of the day.
I should have been on this forum awhile ago. I too like this show. I guess because I talk to people that watch it in person that's why I don't come here. I will try to come here when I have the time.

No. The ratings for Queen Sugar are fine. It's what other poster said. It's more about who's watching. Those people are more than likely not on IMDB.

shareYeah that's about right. The lack of character progression is killing it for me. They are sending mixed signals with everything. When I get more time, I'll right a proper review of my frustrations.

Also, none of the usual reviewers I watch on YT are reviewing this show. This show is so amazing I'm just incredulous at anyone who doesn't watch.

What I've noticed that drives the number of posts on message boards are complaints, controversy and questions. A couple complaints have been made. The little controversy is discussed. And a few questions have been asked and answered.
However, this show is simply a well told story with engaging actors in a beautiful setting where you merely sit back, watch and learn something. The characters are aware of their place in the universe. They address their own controversial matters making moot the endless threads about a prostitute being raped, marital infidelity, drug abusing neglectful parents, family dysfunction, family business, migrant workers, homosexuality, ex-con/parolee employment issues, agriculture difficulties including corporate competition, police abuse and other injustices within the justice system, mental health issues,... What haven't they covered yet?
"He lied about the lies that he lied about"!
And what is it we learn from this show? How to force drama that isn't there?
