I wonder if Tyler Perry is watching...

This show is a marked improvement over The Haves and the Have Nots. I'm glad to see OWN airing shows like this and Greenleaf...shows that are well written and directed. Queen Sugar has complicated yet likable characters; THHN has too many characters that are unneccesarily over the top. The one thing that saves THHN is when it airs; it's usually on when everything else is in reruns, so it doesn't face a lot of competition.

There's no way Tyler can continue to write for that show the way he does when there are these other shows that have elevated the game.

He needs to be.....while taking note. I swear I find it painful to try and sit through a Tyler Perry production after watching Oprah's 2 new dramas.

Whew, I thought I was the only one who felt that way.
I think The Have and the Have Nots has outlived its purpose. He helped her launch her channel, now she has some respectable shows and doesn't need that one any more. It's kind of hard to go back to that kind of show when there's better out there.

I like all 3 of his soaps, however, he needs help in writing them. The pace is too slow, the same people constantly get away with things with no punishment, and people can say the same words 10 times straights in a sentence. TP just needs to hire some writers. Scratch that good writers and then it will be okay.

I don't watch any of his other stuff but "If Loving You Is Wrong" is PAINFULLY slow!!! He literally drags out ONE storyline for the ENTIRE season!!! 😣 TBH, I'm about to delete this mess from my DVR. I can NOT w/that show, the HORRID acting, the slow pace, the unrealistic story lines.........

In TP's defense though......I'm about over "Empire" as well since being exposed to "Greenleaf" and "Queen Sugar".😁

I appreciate Queen Sugar and Greenleaf. Good writing, complex but interesting characters. Characters have good timing and delivery, even Blu. I can see how much work went in the writing, production and directing these shows, so I support them and love watching.
