Male names
Noticed that the women / girls in the family all have male names. What is up with that ?
sharePerhaps that is the mother's transparent way of saying she really wanted all boys instead of girls. Come to think of it, Frankie, Max and Duke are also common dog names. Poor daughters.
shareWell, you might be right of course, but I happen to know both a Frankie and a Max - both girls (Francine and Maxime/Maxima).
We have the (nasty) habit of shortening names. In an idle attempt to avoid that, we named our eldest daughter Cleo - and even that name was butchered.
Wouldn't now what to make of the name Duke though....
Another possibility would be that they didn't only cast girls; the names are pretty universal IMHO.
