Really?

Pamela Adlon...again? I get that Louie has a thing for her...but why casting her in 3 films in a row? Get married, and get it over with :)

reply

That's sort of how creative partnerships work. Wouldn't it suck if DeNiro only did one Scorsese movie, or if Kurt Russell was only in one of Carpenter's films?

So that's the only reason she's a "friend" with him? And you know this how?
Well i guess a man and a woman can't be friends then, unless one of them benefits somehow from it.

HE hasn't casted HER in this. Pamela Adlon is the creator of this show and the writer, and SHE has asked HIM to direct, and has not cast him as an actor. Also, Louie hasn't casted Pamela Adlon in any films. 'Louie' and 'Lucky Louie' were both TV shows not films. Furthermore, He had little do with her being in either show. In 'Lucky Louie' she was cast by HBO. That started a friendship that turned into a creative partnership. Pamela Adlon was one of the earliest contributors to Louie and an executive producer, and was only cast in the second season after an initial casting fell through. She ended up replacing the actress for whom Louie had written a part for, and the ratings for that episode were high enough for her to become a permanent member. Louis CK is now 9 episodes into his new show 'Horace and Pete' and Pamela Adlon has not appeared yet, though she might. Louis CK works with a relatively small group of NY-based comedians and actors, so it's not only Pamela Adlon who has appeared in a lot of his work. Nick Dipaolo, Rick Shapiro, and Maria Dizzia have all appeared in all 3 Louis CK-run TV shows, 'Lucky Louie', 'Louie' and 'Horace and Pete'.

He may very well be in love with Pamela Adlon, but your premise is wrong and misinformed. Also, why not Pamela Adlon? She is a great actress, and I can see why her and Louie get along.

Good answer! Plus, I like the smurfette.

In 'Lucky Louie' she was cast by HBO.

Just to nitpick; Yes, she did audition like everyone else, and that was when they met for the first time, but Louis was the person who fought hard to cast her rather than using one of HBO's preferred "hot blondes" (paraphrased from Adlon's WTF interview).

Until it turned into creative incest.

Just kidding, I love Pamela Adlon on Louis!

Probably the most dumb, glib, sexist and pointless comment I've had the misfortune of reading in a long time. Well done OP.
