Louie 2.0

This show seems like its heavily influenced by Louis CK. The first season reminds of Louie's first season. And that's great!

Albeit less depressing, thankfully

Considering he writes, produces and directs it, I'd say he's pretty influential in the tone of this show.

I think he also produces and writes for Baskets but that show has a completely different tone compared to this show and Louie.

Louie does a lot with this show. He produces, writes, directs, etc.

I like this show, but it seems to be a huge knockoff of Louie. I love Louie, it's a sweet, depressing, funny, cringe worthy, enlightening show.

Better things is less depressing and less an over the top version of Louie. It also has to do a lot more with the children than Louie, considering that Sam has a 16 y.o. daughter. Louie focuses primarily on Louie himself. I think if Louie kept going and his daughter would be a teenager, the show would have went more in the direction of Better Things.

For me Better Things is something to watch to get the Louie feeling, hoping that one day he might do at least one more season of Louie.
