I am excited with this cast! I really hope it is going to be awesomely realistic. There is a hot Asian dude; this means that person who rants about no Asians might have other comments instead. I keep looking at Tyler thinking "Noah, I didn't want you to die!"

shareThe worst beating the Thai language has ever experienced. It was horrible and unintelligible from every person who attempted to speak it. I guess Hollywood thinks they can make up for the white lady butchering the language by following with an Asian person who butchered it equally as badly. Totally unrealistic and skewed view of Thailand as well.
shareJust about every major network (and even the lesser ones) show with a significant foreign language component butchers that language unless the actors are native speakers. Which is rarely the case since such actors are unknowns. I've seen it done with Arabic, French, and Spanish (even when they have a Spanish-speaking actor it's usually the wrong dialect).
So it's not just Thai or Asian languages.
I don't trust people who don't like pets and I don't trust people who pets don't like.

And, how many in the viewing audience are going to know the difference between badly butchered foreign language and fluently spoken foreign language? They will be going to a different locale every week; how much do they want to spend on making the foreign language well-spoken in every episode?
It's a television show, for pete's sake; give them a break. It's no reason to declare the entire show "bad."

Not to mention they don't have the big bucks to thoroughly make everything perfect. Considering all the "countries" they'll go to, I can only imagine how hard it will be to learn to fake the languages of those countries.
