I doubt it's Horatio since in Horatio's universe, she is the one who died. Anyhoo....given that Clare is the one who went on a sabbatical, it's probably her significant other who is "missed."

I don't trust people who don't like pets and I don't trust people who pets don't like.

I would assume Connie Rubirosa's dead hubby that she misses was Mac Taylor's partner. ;-)

Wow, wasn't her husband dead in her last series? Seems like a cheap plot, I guess we will get he was murdered and the guy will come after her next or some other story we have seen before with a widow lead in a crime series. It would not surprise me if we get the standard with he is still alive and being held against his will or he faked his death to protect her. LOL
