Hope they have an ep in England - my Stereotype Bingo Card is ready!

I really had high hopes for this, as I enjoy the original Criminal Minds and also enjoyed Suspect Behavior (which deserved a second season) but this is just a misfire on so many levels.

Judging by the laughable two opening episodes, I can't wait for a story in England.

It's bound to be set in London, as according to previous Hollywood tv shows we only have one city.

And my Stereotype Bingo Card is ready!

Tea at 5 o'clock
Bowler hats
Umbrellas
Rain
One character will eat fish and chips
Cricket/Darts/Football mentioned or seen on a tv screen
Pub scene with "warm beer" reference
London Police Inspector with Terry Thomas style accent
Joke about the royal family
Punks and/or punk music
Shots of Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the London Eye
References to Sherlock Holmes and James Bond

What else would you add?

Oh and I started laughing at Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders from the opening line

"Over 68 million Americans leave the safety of our borders every year"

Crikey! So there's no crime in the USA huh, makes me wonder why you jolly brave ladies and gentlemen venture over to our crime-infested lands! Wot wot!

Toodle-pip!

;)

reply

You forgot the crime.

reply

We don't have stereotypical murders in England, have you not seen Theatre of Blood, or read any Agatha Christie?

Are you expecting death by double decker bus?

; )

reply

Ooh! Ooh! A Scottish episode, "Death By Haggis".

reply

Maybe an American will get murdered in fictional Midsomer and the team will drive Barnaby mad.

reply

I prefer Broadchurch.

reply

😁

Hilarious! I love it.

reply

Easy the crime will be a Jack the Ripper copycat killing all the East London hookers and they will get in the way of John Luther from "Luther" in a cross over episode. True about the "Safety of our borders quip" There were an estimated 1,165,383 violent crimes (murder and non-negligent homicides, rapes, robberies, and aggravated assaults) reported by law enforcement in 2014, if that is safety what is peril?

reply

You missed off:

- Jokes about bad teeth
- Jumping on a London bus
- A chase at Victoria station
- Someone making a phone call from a red telephone box
- A comment along the lines of "Gee. You mean you guys don't carry guns?"

;-)

reply

- Monty will greet the team with a "Pip pip cheerio".

reply

There will be someone driving a Mini
There will be American actors speaking in 'British' accents that sound like Australian
They will find a routemaster bus somewhere and pretend they're still in service
Ditto for really old taxis
Everyone will say bloody hell. A lot.

reply

I also live in the UK - not in London.
I'd like to add cockney rhyming slang, Carnaby Street signs and Mini cars (original or new version).

reply

There are other cities in England? Hmm ...
