perhaps it is fact-based that there really are wild tribes in the woods in Thailand...whether they have knitting needles inserted through their mouths, idk, but I could not rule it out.
It's not really racist, it's not really 'xenophobic"...I call it, old "American Chauvinism.."
Historically, watching various actual cases where crimes befell people from various countries while they were in foreign countries..there are almost always complaints against local law enforcement and the quality of the investigation of the case..the family often hires a local private agent who always huffs about what hillbilly fcku-ups the local cops there are.
You have to admit even within the US itself...if something happens to someone from big-city America whilst they are in some distant small-town wilder kind of part...the local cops are always portrayed as hicks who have no clue and don't give a shyt.
Actually not only with cops investigating, it goes on with lawyers defending or prosecuting, too..the locals are always dismissed as idiots, and the big-city bigshot lawyer pulls into town like a bull in a china shop.
Like that guy who defended Mike Tyson on the rape charge.
