What era does this takeplace? Seems like the early 2000s. I can't think of the reason someone with down syndrome would be in an assisted living place for seniors unless it's a small town 20 years ago. I know she says there aren't really other options for him, and there are hints that it's the 2000s like flip phones and VHS tapes
